Brendan is a knee and shoulder surgeon with a special interest in arthroscopic reconstruction and joint replacement of the knee and shoulder.  

Brendan is a New Zealand trained surgeon specializing in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the shoulder and knee using the latest, advanced techniques of arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery. 

After completing his orthopaedic and trauma training with the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, Brendan undertook subspecialty training in shoulder and knee surgery at

·     Perth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Centre, Australia

·     Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, UK

·     Hospital of St John and Elizabeth, London, UK

Brendan has a public appointment as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Middlemore Hospital where he offers advanced care of knee and shoulder disorders.

In 2014, Brendan was awarded the prestigious ABC Travelling Fellowship where he visited and lectured at leading orthopaedic centres in the United States of America and Canada.  During this fellowship, he spent time with leading international surgeons from Harvard University, Hospital for Joint Diseases New York, Pittsburgh University Medical Centre, Duke University and the renowned Campbell Clinic.

Brendan is on the New Zealand Joint Registry Board.  He is a member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association Education Committee responsible for training the future orthopaedic surgeons of New Zealand.  He is a previous member of the Scientific Committee of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.  

He is an active member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, New Zealand Knee Society, New Zealand Shoulder and Elbow Society, ISAKOS, and the Asia Pacific Knee and Sports Surgery society.
